Reply: I wish to inform the House that Mr. D. B. has been appointed as Adviser on a one-year contractual basis at the Ministry of National Infrastructure as from 21 April 2025. I am advised, through a communication received from the Commissioner of Police dated 04 December 2025, that Mr. D. B. was arrested and detained by the Police on 21 August 2025 following a complaint lodged against him. He was thereafter released on bail on 22 August 2025. I am further informed that on the same day, the complainant informed the Police that she did not wish to pursue the matter any further. In the circumstances and pending any further official developments, no action has been initiated against Mr. D. B. However, I wish to point out that suspension from duty does not arise for officers employed on a contractual basis. The situation is nonetheless being monitored.
