The exchange, in full

Reply: I am informed that according to information gathered, there are a number of government buildings falling under the purview of different Ministries and departments that are no longer in use. The list of abandoned government buildings, with their location, the purpose for which they were used and the proposed projects for implementation therein is being placed at the Library of the National Assembly. Discussion and planning are held with the parent Ministries concerned with regard to future use of those buildings. Whenever a Ministry identifies a potential new use or project of a particular building, my Ministry provides full support for renovation, upgrading or redevelopment so that the building can be put back into service in the most efficient way, subject to the required funds being made available by the Ministry or Department concerned.
