CLERK OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY – MRS B. S. LOTUN, CSK – APPOINTMENT

Hon. Members, I have an announcement to make. Hon. Members, I am pleased to inform the House that Mrs Bibi Safeena Lotun, CSK has been appointed Clerk of the National Assembly, on contract, with effect from Friday, 06 June 2025. Mrs Lotun served as Clerk of this National Assembly as from 03 March 2014. After 22 years of committed and valuable service to the National Assembly, Mrs Lotun chose, for personal reasons, to conclude her career on 01 May 2023, earlier than expected, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and professionalism. She was recently appointed as my Adviser on 30 January 2025, and has helped me immensely at the beginning of my speakership. I am sure that I will be able to count on her again in her new post as Clerk. On behalf of all hon. Members and the staff of the National Assembly, and in my own name, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Mrs Lotun on her appointment as Clerk of the National Assembly, and I wish her every success in her new responsibilities.
