The proceeding, in full

(7.50 p.m.) RODRIGUES – MURDER OF C.B – SUPPORT TO BEREAVED FAMILY Mr F. François (Second Member for Rodrigues): Thank you, Madam Speaker. I won’t be long. Madam Speaker, the issue I am raising tonight is addressed to the hon. Minister of Gender Equality and Family Welfare, with regards to the recent brutal killing of a young 16 years old, C.B, a tragic and traumatic crime that deeply shocked Rodrigues. Well, I offer my heartfelt condolences to all families. Madam Speaker, when I saw a desperate mother and families in January last, as raised by hon. Dr. Aumeer, another young daughter following a maternal death who wants to hear justice for her young girl and also having witnessed and felt the pain and sadness from families of the victim and relatives of accused murderer, it hurts a lot. Let’s pray and make peace and may the Lord be upon all of them. Madam Speaker, in that regard, I shall request the hon. Minister to extend urgent necessary support to all the families and to over needy juveniles in collaboration with local authority and institution thereat as Rodrigues is not used to such atrocities. I thank you.

Madam Speaker

You will look into it.

The Minister of Gender Equality and Family Welfare (Mrs A. Navarre-Marie)
