SITTING 07 FEBRUARY 2025 – UNBECOMING/OFFENSIVE WORDS – EXPUNGEMENT

Hon. Members, today I wish to make a very brief announcement with regard to the use of unbecoming or offensive words as per Standing Order 40(2). The words must be expunged everywhere from the Hansard once that they have been withdrawn by the Member who made them in order to preserve our parliamentary tradition and to uphold the dignity of the House. In view of the fact that at the Sitting of 21 February 2025, the hon. Deputy Prime Minister readily withdrew certain words pronounced by him at the Sitting of 07 February 2025, I am now ordering that they be expunged from the official records. I also expect that these expressions will not be reported anymore elsewhere. Thank you.
