(No. B/811) Mr S. Jugurnauth (Second Member for Savanne & Black River) asked the Minister of Agro-Industry, Food Security, Blue Economy and Fisheries whether, in regard to fish farming, he will, for the benefit of the House, obtain from the Fisheries Planning and Licensing Division, information as to the – (a) names of the companies having been issued licences therefor; (b) regions where same is currently carried out, indicating the species of fish farmed and the potential hazards these species may pose to the local marine flora and fauna, and (c) whether cases of fish escaping from fish cages as a result of vandalism or adverse weather conditions have been reported.
