(No. B/646) Dr. Ms R. Daureeawo (Third Member for Rivière des Anguilles & Souillac) asked the Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Home Affairs and External Communications, Minister of Finance, Minister for Rodrigues and Outer Islands whether, in regard to the death of detainee, late D. S., at the Beau Bassin Central Prison on or about 05 May 2026, he will, for the benefit of the House, obtain from the Commissioner of Police, information as to where matters stand regarding the inquiry initiated thereinto, indicating – (a) the circumstances and cause of death, and (b) whether – (i) any prison officer has been suspended in connection therewith, and (ii) all relevant evidence, including CCTV footage, medical records and duty logs have been secured.
