(No. B/333) Mr K. Rookny (Third Member for Pamplemousses & Triolet) asked the Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Home Affairs and External Communications, Minister of Finance, Minister for Rodrigues and Outer Islands whether, in regard to the Mauritius Police Force (MPF), he will, for the benefit of the House, obtain from the Commissioner of Police, information as to whether he is in presence of complaints or reports in relation to the conduct of Police Officers potentially undermining the effective implementation of law and order and, if so, indicate – (a) whether internal reviews, investigations or disciplinary proceedings have been initiated in connection therewith, giving details thereof, and (b) the measures being taken to ensure that the MPF operates with full impartiality, professionalism and independence.
