(No. B/1038) Ms A. Savabaddy (First Member for Port Louis North & Montagne Longue) asked the Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Home Affairs and External Communications, Minister of Finance, Minister for Rodrigues and Outer Islands whether, in regard to unclaimed and unidentified bodies, he will, for the benefit of the House, obtain from the Commissioner of Police, information as to the – (a) number thereof having been subjected to autopsies by the Police Medical Unit and where matters stand regarding the police inquiries initiated in relation thereto, including, in cases of persons of no fixed abode, and (b) measures being envisaged to ensure the dignified burial or cremation thereof.
