B/1082 The Honourable Third Member for Port Louis South and Port Louis Central (Dr Aumeer) To ask Dr the Honourable Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Home Affairs and External Communications, Minister of Finance, Minister for Rodrigues and Outer Islands – Whether, in regard to incidences of violent crimes wherein knives and/or sabres/other bladed weapons were used in the perpetration thereof, he will (a) for the benefit of the House, obtain from the Commissioner of Police, information as to the number of reported cases thereof over the past five years, indicating the number of (i) injuries and (ii) fatalities in connection therewith and (b) state whether consideration will be given for the introduction of new legislation to regulate the sale and possession of knives, sabres and other bladed weapons?
